SARAJEVO, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) national football team beat Lichtenstein 2-1 in Group J of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers in Bilino Polje arena in Zenica on Friday.
BiH took the lead just three minutes into the game through Edin Dzeko. Things went from bad to worse for visiting Lichtenstein as Simon Luchinger's 19th minute own goal made it 2-0.
The visitors pulled one back one minute later by Sandro Wolfinger but were unable to turn the tables in the small industrial town some 70 kilometers northwest of Sarajevo, the capital of BiH.
The UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying tournament runs from March 2023 to March 2024 and has a total of 53 UEFA member associations entering the qualifying process. ■
