TEHRAN, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Three Iranians recently released from Qatari prisons have returned to their home country, said Iran's Ambassador to Doha Hamidreza Dehghani on Thursday.
In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, the Iranian envoy stressed that the Iranians returned to their country by their own boats that had been confiscated by the Qatari authorities at the time of their arrest.
He thanked his colleagues as well as the relevant Qatari authorities for the nationals' release and repatriation, giving the assurance that Iran's embassy in Qatar is seriously pursuing the release of other Iranian citizens arrested or imprisoned in the Arab state.
In late August, Dehghani announced the three Iranians' release in a post on X, noting that they had been detained due to having entered Qatar's territorial waters mistakenly. ■
