ISLAMABAD, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- One man was killed and another injured in an explosion in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday, rescue teams said.
The incident happened in the tribal district of Bajaur where some unknown militants blew up an improvised explosive device near a police checkpost, Abdullah Khan, media coordinator of state-run Rescue 1122, told Xinhua.
The killed and injured were passers-by, and all policemen at the checkpost remained safe in the attack, he said.
The injured man got serious injuries and has been shifted to a nearby hospital by the rescue teams.
Police cordoned off the area for an investigation.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. ■
