JERUSALEM, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Israel on Wednesday launched a plan to assimilate innovative technologies for advanced production in industrial plants, the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The plan, aiming to raise the productivity of the Israeli industry, includes grants to support factories that will implement advanced technologies of robotics, 3D printing, predictive maintenance, Internet of things, process control, augmented reality, advanced data analytics, big data, advanced materials, and more.

Support eligibility will also consider operational excellence in the factory, improvement of human capital for operating advanced equipment, promotion of product innovation, and raw material efficiency.

Plants that meet the criteria will be able to receive up to 4.5 million shekels (1.18 million U.S. dollars) each, depending on the cost of the new technologies, factory size, geographic location, and more.

The plan will provide increased grants to plants in the Arab and Bedouin societies, in border areas near Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, and in national priority areas, mainly the Galilee region in the north and the Negev desert in the south, it added.
