TEHRAN, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Deputy Judiciary Chief Kazem Gharibabadi has urged countries hosting members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) to either expel them or extradite them to Iran, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Thursday.

Gharibabadi made the remarks during an interview with local media published on Wednesday, according to the report.

"We call on those countries that are hosting the MKO members to either expel the terrorists or hand them over to Iran for prosecution, or try them in their own courts," stated Gharibabadi, stressing Iran's readiness to provide substantial evidence and documents regarding the MKO's criminal activities to any nation willing to take legal and judicial action against its members.

Gharibabadi welcomed the recent anti-MKO position taken by the government of Albania, where the MKO primarily operates, but stressed that adopting such stances alone is insufficient.

Iran designates the MKO as a terrorist organization, accusing it of killing "tens of thousands of Iranian citizens." The group is currently based in Albania.
