BANGKOK, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- China powered into the final of the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship following a 25-13, 25-12, 25-22 win against Vietnam in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand on Tuesday.
China will take on Thailand on Wednesday, as the tournament's hosts overcame defending champions Japan 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11 in the other semifinal.
Fresh from their thrilling comeback win against Japan on Monday, China started strongly against Vietnam, racing to an 11-5 lead before taking it 25-13.
The situation was similar in the second set with China leading all the way to finish it off 25-12.
Vietnam put up a more credible attempt in the third set, but China stayed cool to wrap up the game in style. ■
