PARUN, Afghanistan, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The construction of roads in east Afghanistan's Nuristan Province has begun, a statement of the provincial department for rural rehabilitation said Wednesday.
According to the department, the construction work of the roads, which span 2,449 km, began on Tuesday.
Roads and highways in the country were badly bombarded during decades of war. ■
