YANGON, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned 214.42 million U.S. dollars from the exports of fishery products in the first four months of the present fiscal year 2023-2024, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday.
The revenue from exports of fishery products between April 1 and Aug. 18 this year was down, compared to 239.821 million U.S. dollars earned in the same period of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the ministry's data showed.
During the period, the country's total export was valued at over 5.93 billion U.S. dollars, down 640 million dollars year-on-year, according to the ministry's figures.
The country's total trade value amounted to over 12.58 billion dollars during the period, down over 388.77 million dollars year-on-year. About 70 percent of the country's trade with foreign countries during the period was done through sea route, while its border trade was conducted with China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India, official figures showed.
Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals, forest products, manufacturing goods and others to foreign countries, while it imports capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods. ■
