KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Construction of a water supplying network has been completed and inaugurated in the Zhari district of south Afghanistan's Kandahar province, state media reported on Wednesday.
The contraction project was completed at a cost of 8,113,000 Afghanis (about 100,000 U.S. dollars); the network will provide clean drinking water to about 100 households, the state-run news agency Bakhtar added.
Similarly, Afghan authorities opened six water supply networks in west Afghanistan's Farah province on Monday.
As part of efforts to rebuild war-torn Afghanistan, the Afghan caretaker government, besides launching some development projects, has also called upon national and international companies to invest and create job opportunities for the poverty-stricken Afghans. ■
