ALGIERS, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Algerian state-owned energy giant Sonatrach has made 10 new oil and gas discoveries during drilling operations in the first half of 2023, local media reported Tuesday.
Most of them are located near existing strategic facilities which enable them to be easily integrated into production, the state-run radio Channel 1 reported, citing Sonatrach's Exploration Department Director Rabie Badji.
Sonatrach Chief Executive Toufik Hakkar said in January that the company has made a 40-billion-U.S. dollar investment plan for 2023-2027, with a primary focus on expanding oil and gas exploration and production. ■
