NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 jolted 115 km E of Yamada, Japan, at 22:48:26 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 35.0 km, was initially determined to be at 39.57 degrees north latitude and 143.28 degrees east longitude. ■
