AMRITSAR, India, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Teej Festival is celebrated during the Sawan month which falls in July-August, and is dedicated to Goddess Parvati and her holy union with Lord Shiva. The performance usually features fasting, worshipping lord Shiva, gathering, dancing and singing.
In India's northern Punjab state, women wearing traditional Punjabi attire sing folk songs and perform traditional Gidha dance during an event to celebrate Teej Festival.
