KABUL, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Military technicians of the Afghan army have fixed 10 battle tanks, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Wednesday.
The army's 313 Central Corps has been in charge of the repair work of heavy weaponry, said the report.
Earlier, technical teams of the defense ministry repaired hundreds of pieces of armaments, including assault rifles, scores of battle tanks and armored personnel carriers, as well as military aircraft, including gunship helicopters.
Heavy weaponry, including battle tanks and military vehicles worth 7 billion U.S. dollars, has reportedly been left in Afghanistan following the U.S.-led forces' defeat and hasty withdrawal from the war-torn country in August 2021. ■
