BISHKEK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Eight people were killed in a traffic accident in Kyrgyzstan, reported the press service of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry on Monday.
The accident occurred on the night of Aug. 13 on the Bishkek-Balykchy highway in the Tong district of the Issyk-Kul region.
A BMW and an Audi collided, killing eight people, including two children -- a one-and-a-half year old and a five-month-old baby. Another six people with various injuries are in the hospital.
An investigation into the incident is underway. ■
