CHONBURI, Thailand, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- A batch of buffalo racers competed in east Thailand's Chonburi in the century-old annual Buffalo Race to celebrate the start of the paddy-sowing season.
The roaring buffalo duos, yoked at the neck, galloped in the muddy field, while racers rode on rustic chariots and drove them through the track with whips. The exciting festival has drawn thousands of visitors to the region and was a boon to the local economy.
