Sinkholes appear on shore of Dead Sea as water level drops

Figures released by Israel's Ministry of Environmental Protection showed that the Dead Sea had been shrinking at an alarming pace. As the water receded, a barren landscape of salt rock and numerous sinkholes appeared.
