BALKH, Afghanistan, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The sunflower is the main crop in the rotation system in agricultural production in Afghanistan. The production of sunflower crops is increasingly essential as the demand for sunflower oil increases worldwide, making the future bright for the sunflower growers in Balkh Province.
This year, about 500 acres of land were planted with sunflowers in many districts of Balkh, and each acre produced 600 kg of sunflower seeds.
