ANKARA, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The apricot harvest in central Türkiye's Malatya has begun in full swing. Malatya is a city renowned for apricot production, with its apricot output accounting for 80 percent of the country's total.
Located on a cold and dry plateau with an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, Malatya is ideal for cultivating sweet apricots. Its famed dried apricots have been exported to more than 100 countries worldwide.
