China completed gold medal sweep in diving at the Chengdu Universiade.
CHENGDU, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The eight-day diving competitions at the Chengdu Universiade concluded here on Monday with hosts China bagging four more golds in men's platform, mixed team, men's team and women's team.
Chinese divers Huang Zigan and Yang Ling swept the gold and silver medals in the men's platform final. Huang scored 551.55 points in six dives, 22.70 more than second-placed Yang. South Korean diver Shin Jung-whi took bronze in 411.60.
Two hours later, Huang Zigan and his teammate Wang Weiying topped the mixed team final with a total of 436.45 points, followed by Japanese Reo Nishida/Karen Yamasaki and South Korean Shin Jung-whi/Kim Na-hyun.
In the women's team, China scored the highest score of 3145.63 points for the gold, followed by South Korea with 2219.80 points, and the U.S. with 2120.52 for the bronze.
China also outpointed others in the men's team, with 4205.17 points, ahead of South Korea and Japan, with 3396.84 and 3095.20 points, respectively.
With the competitions wrapped up, China topped the medal tally with 15 golds. ■
