MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Provincial authorities have reconstructed and revived a ghee-producing plant in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of northern Afghanistan's Balkh province, a statement of the provincial government said Sunday.
Being restored after more than a decade of suspension, the plant produces six tons of ghee daily, the statement said.
According to the statement, the revival of the ghee-producing plant has created job opportunities for 60 people at the moment and more people would be hired in the future with the increase in the plant's products.
The Afghan caretaker government, reviving similar factories in the northern Kunduz and southern Helmand provinces months ago, promised to revive damaged plants elsewhere in Afghanistan. ■
