MANILA, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- A ferry boat with an undetermined number of passengers sank off Simara island in Romblon province in the central Philippines on Saturday at around 1 p.m. local time, reported local media.
According to a local official, the passenger boat was on its way from Tablas to Simara, two island towns in Romblon province, when the accident happened.
Philippine Coast Guard said the search and rescue operations were ongoing, without giving further details. There were no casualties reported yet. ■
