RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- A second-half strike from veteran Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero led Ecuador's LDU Quito to a 1-0 away win over Chilean club Nublense in their Copa Sudamericana round of 16 first leg on Thursday.
Guerrero gave the Ecuadorean side the lead by firing a cool finish into the bottom right corner after receiving Jose Quintero's cross.
The result means LDU Quito need only a draw in next week's return fixture in Quito to advance to the next round.
In Buenos Aires, a 51st-minute strike from Adam Bareiro handed Argentina's San Lorenzo a 1-0 home win over Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo.
In Thursday's only other Copa Sudamericana first leg fixture, Bragantino drew 1-1 at America Mineiro in their all-Brazilian clash. ■
