RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Bruno Henrique scored a second-half winner as defending champions Flamengo edged toward a berth in the Copa Libertadores last 16 with a 1-0 home win over Olimpia on Thursday.
Henrique broke the deadlock in the 49th minute when he latched onto Gabriel Barbosa's pass and headed a shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Juan Espinola.
The Rio de Janeiro outfit dominated the rest of the match and, despite not adding another goal, never looked troubled as they secured their third straight victory in all competitions.
The return fixture will be played in Paraguayan capital Asuncion next Thursday.
In Thursday's only other Copa Libertadores round of 16 first leg match, Colombia's Atletico Nacional secured a 4-2 home win over Argentine side Racing Club. ■
