YANGON, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has announced a newly reshuffled State Administration Council led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing with the retirement of several ministers.
Under the new council unveiled on Wednesday, the total number of persons included in the council was reduced to 18 from 20 with 16 of the key members remaining in place.
The council transferred one of the former members to the council's central advisory body and also announced the retirement of the Union Chief Justice in its separate orders.
Four ministers - Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, Union Minister for Electric Power, Union Minister for Energy, and Union Minister for Labour - were also allowed to retire from the duty assignment, the council said.
Additionally, Union Auditor-General, Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman and Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Chairman were also allowed to retire from the duty assignment on health grounds, it said.
Myanmar on Monday extended its state of emergency in the Southeast Asian country for another six months. ■
