KUNMING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Yunnan Shilin (Stone Forest), a breathtaking karst landscape, took a whopping 270 million years to form. This enchanting wonderland is tucked away in the heart of Shilin Yi Autonomous County in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Featuring labyrinths of limestone pillars and whimsical rock formations, Yunnan Shilin is an important part of the South China Karst, which became a World Heritage Site in 2007. The geopark is acclaimed as the "Karst Museum," where almost all the typical pinnacle karst types can be found.■
