Japan swept all four judo golds on offer at the Chengdu Universiade on Sunday.

CHENGDU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Japan won four gold medals on the second day of the judo competition at the Chengdu Universiade here on Sunday.

One of the most intense battles of the day started in the men's 81kg final between Yoshito Hojo of Japan and Nurbek Murtozoev of Uzbekistan. Murtozoev scored first with a waza-ari but lost to Hojo by an ippon.

In the men's 73kg final, Japanese judoka Tatsuki Ishihara toppled Rashid Mammadaliyev of Azerbaijan to win gold.

Kirari Yamaguchi of Japan beat Agathe Devitry of France by a clean throw in the women's 63kg final. Japan's Mayu Honda won women's 70kg gold in a fast-paced final, defeating Samira Bock of Germany.

Chinese judoka Feng Beibei finished 7th in the women's 63kg category, and her teammate Ye Zi also ranked 7th in the women's 70kg category.

Five judo golds will be up for grabs in Monday's competitions, namely men's 90kg, 100kg and +100kg, as well as women's 78kg and +78kg categories.
