RIO DE JANEIRO, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay's Libertad progressed to the Copa Sudamericana last 16 on Thursday with a 1-0 away victory over Argentine side Tigre.
Alexander Barboza put the visitors ahead by heading home at the far post after Hector Villalba's corner.
Tigre controlled 63% of possession and had 17 shots on goal, but could not find a way past the visitors' frugal defense.
The result gave Libertad a 3-1 win on aggregate after the Asuncion-based outfit won the first leg of their round-of-32 tie 2-1.
Libertad will meet Brazilian Serie A side Fortaleza in the round of 16 of South America's second most important continental tournament for clubs. ■
