KUWAIT CITY, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait's parliament approved Tuesday the resignation of State Audit Bureau head Faisal Fahad Al-Shaya, the Kuwait News Agency reported.
National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Sadoun said the parliament held a closed-door session earlier in the day to discuss Al-Shaya's resignation, said the report.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida reported that Finance Minister Manaf Abdulaziz Al-Hajeri submitted his resignation on Monday.
He made the move to protest against the decision to transfer the jurisdiction over sovereign wealth fund Kuwait Investment Authority from his ministry to be under the deputy prime minister, also the minister of oil and minister of state for economic and investment affairs, the newspaper reported.
Al-Hajeri was appointed by the prime minister as finance minister in April during a cabinet reshuffle. ■
