BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The trade barrier investigation launched by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) into Taiwan region's restrictions on products from the Chinese mainland is ongoing, a mainland spokesperson said Tuesday.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks in response to a media query, saying that a circular was issued by the MOC on June 19 inviting interested parties, including trade associations and enterprises in Taiwan, to take part in the investigation.
Questionnaires have been mailed to 11 relevant trade associations and 30 enterprises in Taiwan by investigators, Chen said.
"We welcome relevant Taiwan trade associations and enterprises to take part in the investigation to voice their opinions and protect the interests of enterprises," he said.
The MOC launched the investigation on April 12 after receiving a request for trade barrier investigation submitted by three chambers of import and export trade from the mainland in March. ■
