LONDON -- An eight-year-old child was killed after a car crashed into a school building in Wimbledon, southwest London, the Metropolitan Police (Met) said here on Thursday.
Six other children and two adults were injured in the incident when a Land Rover crashed into the Study Preparatory School on Camp Road in the morning, the Met said. (UK-London-Car Accident)

LAHORE -- At least nine people were killed and over 10 others injured during the last 24 hours after torrential rains hit Pakistan's eastern metropolitan of Lahore, said the rescue department on Thursday.
Rescue department Rescue-1122 said the deceased persons died of electrocution, drowning and being buried in debris as the city witnessed 291 millimeters of rain, the highest figure during the last 30 years in the provincial capital of eastern Punjab province. (Pakistan-Rain related incidents)

TOKYO -- A minitruck struck and injured three students on Thursday after breaking into an elementary school in northern Japan's Miyagi prefecture.
According to local police, the fourth-grade students, two male and one female, were taken to hospitals right after the incident which took place at around 3:30 p.m. local time at Wakayanagi Elementary School in Kurihana city. (Japan-School-Truck accident)

JAKARTA -- Two people were killed and 12 others injured in a vehicle crash on a toll road in Sragen regency of Indonesia's Central Java province on Thursday.
A tour minibus carrying 12 elementary school teachers was traveling from east to west at 05:15 a.m. local time and hit a truck ahead, said Sragen police officer First Inspector Irwan Marvianto, adding that the driver and co-driver of the minibus were dead. (Indonesia-Traffic accident) ■
