COLOMBO, July 5 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) expressed willingness on Wednesday to provide the necessary knowledge and technical support for Sri Lanka's new reform operation program in the water supply sector, along with capacity building projects of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, a statement from the President's Media Division (PMD) said.
The PMD said a meeting took place on Tuesday between Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security Sagala Ratnayake, and ADB Resident Mission Director Takafumi Kadono.
A separate statement from the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development said the proposed comprehensive reforms, supported by a 200 million U.S. dollar policy-based loan from the ADB, aim to transform the water sector and ensure sustainable water management for future generations. ■
