JAKARTA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will operate at least nine oil and gas blocks throughout 2023 so as to boost energy production, Indonesia's Upstream Oil and Gas Special Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) said Tuesday.

Three of the nine blocks are the Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB) gas field in Bojonegoro regency, East Java province, the Tangguh Train III liquefied natural gas project in Teluk Bintuni regency, West Papua province, and the Forel oil field in Bintan Island, Riau Islands province.

"The JTB will work on its 100 percent maximum production capacity this July, while the two others will start production in August," Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto told reporters here.

Soetjipto said that JTB project could produce around 192 million standard cubic feet gas per day, Train III would have a production capacity of 3.8 million metric tons per year, and the Forel would be able to produce up to 10,000 barrels of oil per day.

"We hope in the future there will be an increase in our production capacity (of oil and gas)," he said.
