ZARANJ, Afghanistan, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have discovered a weapon cache containing a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in the Chahar Burjak district of western Afghanistan's Nimruz Province, a local official said on Tuesday.
The confiscated arms and ammunition include ten rocket shells and thousands of rounds of bullets from assault rifles such as AK-47 and PK machine guns, said Mawlawi Abdullah Anas, the district's police chief.
Anas also noted that the contraband had been kept in an abandoned area and no one has been arrested, adding that efforts are underway to bring justice to those who kept the arms illegally. ■
