MAHMUD-E-RAQI, Afghanistan, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A clash over water between two families in Afghanistan's eastern Kapisa province has left six persons injured, said a statement of provincial police department released here on Monday.
The incident took place Sunday evening when the two families quarreled over water distribution in Police District 2 of provincial capital Mahmud-e-Raqi city. In the clash, four persons from one family and two from the other side were injured, the statement said without providing more details.
Several provinces of Afghanistan including Kapisa and the national capital Kabul city have suffered drought as the local underground water level has receded over the past couple of years.
Continued drought, according to farmers, has also affected agricultural production in parts of the war-ravaged Afghanistan. ■
