STOCKHOLM, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Sweden's ammunition stockpiles reached a critically low level because of its military support to Ukraine, Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper reported on Friday.

Replenishing the ammunition stockpiles will take a long time, DN said.

The government has, therefore, decided that the production of ammunition must be prioritized just as much as new fighter jets and submarines, the report said.

Minister for Defense Pal Jonson told DN that the conflict in Ukraine "highlights the need to reinforce the supply of artillery ammunition and also other types of ammunition."
