SOFIA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The China-Bulgaria House of Journalists was launched in Sofia on Thursday, by the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) and the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ).
At the launch ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun said that the creation of the new platform would "bring new opportunities for media exchange and cooperation between China and Bulgaria," and "become an important platform for both countries to improve mutual understanding, exchange and learn from each other."
Within the framework of the House of Journalists, reporters from the two countries will hold forums and seminars, organize trainings and other activities, Dong said.
Meanwhile, Tian Yuhong, executive secretary of the ACJA, said his association and UBJ have had successful cooperation for almost 40 years.
"The journalistic organizations of China and Bulgaria are good friends and partners, they always help each other, and the friendship is getting stronger," Tian said.
The China-Bulgaria House of Journalists will not only deepen Sino-Bulgarian journalistic relations, but also create key opportunities for media exchange through the Media Cooperation Platform between China and Central and Eastern Europe, Tian said.
For his part, UBJ President Snezhana Todorova said: "I have witnessed the development of our relations over the years. And I can confidently state that with each passing year they have developed on an upward line."
