DHAKA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- In a major step towards improving child health in Bangladesh, the country has launched a nationwide campaign to distribute vitamin A capsules to children between 6 months and 5 years old.
The campaign was launched on Sunday and aims to provide essential nutrients to young children across the South Asian country.
According to experts, vitamin A deficiency is a leading cause of blindness and can also lead to increased susceptibility to diseases such as measles and diarrhea. By distributing vitamin A capsules to children, Bangladesh hopes to tackle this problem and improve overall child health.
