URUMQI, June 17 (Xinhua) -- A team of researchers from China and African countries and regions have gathered in the southern region of China's Xinjiang, to jointly study effective measures to prevent and control land degradation and desertification in the Sahara Desert and Taklimakan Desert.
Chinese researchers have been studying desertification control techniques in the Taklimakan Desert for over 60 years.
