TEHRAN, June 14 (Xinhua) -- During Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Venezuela, the two countries signed 26 documents on cooperation in economy and trade, technology, and science sectors, the state-run IRIB TV quoted Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian as saying on Wednesday.
Amir-Abdollahian is among a high-level delegation headed by Raisi for an ongoing five-day LatAm tour that includes Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
Iran and Venezuela have a balanced bilateral cooperation within the framework of the 20-year comprehensive partnership agreement signed between the two countries last June, said the foreign minister.
He highlighted Venezuela's status as a founding member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and home to important oil and gas reserves in its region.
The Iranian president arrived in Venezuela on Monday and left for Nicaragua on Tuesday. ■
