JERUSALEM, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Israeli football star Omer Atzili has left Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa and signed with Al Ain FC of the United Arab Emirates until 2025, the two clubs said in separate statements on Wednesday.

Several Israeli media reported that the 29-year-old attacking midfielder will earn about 1.8 million euros in his first season at the UAE Pro League runners-up, in addition to the transfer amount of 2 million euros to Maccabi Haifa.

"I chose Al Ain because it is one of the biggest clubs in Asia," Atzili said. "I want to win all the titles with my new team."

Atzili joined Maccabi Haifa in January 2021 and led the club to three Israeli Premier League championship titles, after a decade in which the club failed to do so.

In the last two seasons, he scored a total of 41 goals and was twice named MVP of the season by the Israeli Premier League governing body.
