DINAJPUR, BANGLADESH, June 8 (Xinhua) - Farmers in Dinajpur district, some 338 km northwest of capital Dhaka, are reaping big profits from growing Chinese lychee varieties as lychee season is in full swing in Bangladesh.
In Dinajpur, the country's main lychee-growing region, Chinese varieties have been widely planted.
Due to their high demand, Chinese lychee varieties are usually sought after by wholesalers.
Lychee is a commercially important fruit in Bangladesh and its harvest typically happens from mid-May to early June in the South Asian country.
