BEIJING, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.08 percent to 3,197.76 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.6 percent lower at 10,708.82 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 814.5 billion yuan (114.4 billion U.S. dollars), down from 937.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in sectors such as tourism and brain-computer interface led the gains, while those related to power equipment and automotive vehicles suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.61 percent to close at 2,129.9 points. ■
