KABUL, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's security forces have discovered a weapon cache in the western Farah province and seized a variety of arms and ammunition, said a statement of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the GDI personnel launched operations in Farah province on Wednesday and discovered weapons including five Kalashnikov rifles, three PK machine guns, two rocket launchers and thousands of bullets, including 20 mortar shells, the statement said, without mentioning if anyone was arrested.
Afghan security forces also discovered and seized weapon caches in the northern Baghlan Province on Tuesday. ■
