MACAO, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Macao's total merchandise export amounted to 858 million patacas (about 106 million U.S. dollars) in April, down 28.1 percent year on year, the special administrative region's statistical service said on Tuesday.
The merchandise import went down 11.3 percent year on year to 11.66 billion patacas, and the merchandise trade deficit totaled 10.81 billion patacas in April, the latest report from Macao's Statistics and Census Service showed.
The value of re-exports dropped 24.0 percent to 731 million patacas, whereas the value of domestic exports shrank 45.3 percent to 126 million patacas, the report said. (1 pataca equals 0.12 U.S. dollars) ■
