BUENOS AIRES, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's Newell's Old Boys secured their passage to the Copa Sudamericana knockout stage on Wednesday with a 3-2 away win over Bolivian side Blooming.

Rafinha gave the hosts the lead in the 12th minute but Ivan Gomez, Christian Long and Jorge Recalde each struck within 30 minutes to leave Newell's reeling.

The Rosario-based club reduced the deficit through Leonardo Fenga in the 88th minute but Newell's held on to make it four wins from four outings so far. Blooming have not yet picked up a point from their four games.

In other Copa Sudamericana fixtures on Wednesday, Deportes Tolima drew 1-1 at Tigre, Audax Italiano won 2-1 at home to Santos, and Fortaleza prevailed 3-2 at home to San Lorenzo.

The winner of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's equivalent of the UEFA Europa League, will earn an automatic group-stage berth in next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club trophy.
