HONG KONG, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong recorded provisional visitor arrivals of 2.89 million for April, an 18 percent increase from the previous month, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) said on Monday.
The daily average figure of the month is equivalent to about 58 percent of the average between the 2017-2019 period.
Most visitors in April came from the mainland and Southeast Asia. With the last weekend of the month preceding the five-day Labor Day holiday, the number of mainland visitors showed a remarkable increase, said the HKTB.
In April, more than 2.3 million mainland visitors came to Hong Kong. ■
