RIO DE JANEIRO, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Paulo Henrique Ganso scored one goal and set up another as Fluminense rose to third in Brazil's Serie A championship on Saturday with a 2-0 home victory over Cuiaba.
Marcilio Mota put the hosts ahead at the Maracana stadium by nodding home following Ganso's corner in the sixth minute.
Ganso then latched onto Vinicius Lima's pass before slotting a left-footed finish past goalkeeper Walter Artune as Fluminense secured their fourth win of the campaign.
The Rio de Janeiro giants now have 13 points from six outings, nine points more than 17th-placed Cuiaba.
In other Brazilian Serie A fixtures on Saturday, Flamengo won 3-2 at Bahia, Palmeiras were held to a 1-1 home draw by Bragantino and Atletico Mineiro secured a 2-0 home victory over Internacional. ■
