BUENOS AIRES, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Argentinos Juniors broke a four-match winless run in Argentina's Primera Division with a 2-1 victory at Atletico Tucuman on Friday.
Kevin Mac Allister put Argentinos Juniors ahead with a 14th-minute strike after combining with Gabriel Avalos.
The hosts equalized on the stroke of halftime when Cristian Menendez converted from the penalty spot after Lucas Villalba brought down Mateo Coronel.
But Avalos restored the visitors' lead by bundling home from close range after the restart and they defended solidly thereafter to secure their sixth win of the campaign.
The result leaves Argentinos Juniors ninth with 23 points from 16 games while Atletico Tucuman are 26th in the 28-team standings with just two wins so far.
In Friday's only other Primera Division fixture, Huracan were held to goalless home draw by Godoy Cruz. ■
