TEHRAN, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Iran's police smashed a three-member "terrorist" team accused of being involved in the assassination of a county police chief in the southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province in late April, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday.
The team members were the main suspects for the assassination of Saravan County's Police Chief Alireza Shahraki and his wife in an armed attack on April 30, Tasnim quoted provincial police commander Doostali Jalilian as saying.
He added the team comprises the main members of the Jaish al-Zulm "terrorist" group.
Shahraki and his wife were killed in an armed attack while traveling in their car along a county street, Jalilian told Tasnim at the time. ■
