TEHRAN, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's finance minister said on Thursday the obstacles to increasing Iranian exporting companies' presence in Syria will soon be removed.

Ehsan Khandouzi made the remarks in a post on his Twitter page, commenting on his meeting and negotiations with Syrian officials in the Syrian capital of Damascus since Wednesday.

He added that, given the talks he held with Syria's Finance Minister Kenan Yaghi, Economy and Foreign Trade Minister Mohammad Samer al-Khalil and Central Bank Governor Mohammed Issam Hazima, the obstacles to Iranian exporting companies' increased presence in Syria will soon be removed in the fields of finance, insurance and customs affairs.

The Iranian minister and his Syrian counterpart signed three cooperation documents on Wednesday.

Khandouzi was a member of the high-level delegation accompanying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on his two-day visit to Syria.

Raisi arrived in Damascus on Wednesday for extensive political and economic talks with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad.
